One can also use the airport on the neighbouring island of Skiathos, which is also part of the prefecture of Magnesia.

Pelion and the city of Volos is also very easy to reach by car, with the travelling time from Athens approximately 5 hours, and from Thessaloniki 3.5 hours.

During the winter season, lovers of ski and winter sports descend to Volos and Mount Pelion, to make use of the top quality ski centre, that crowns the summit of Pelion.
