MOUNT PELION GREECE - PILIO PENINSULA
Central Greece is full of beautiful and unique regions,

The region of Thessaly contains the prefecture of Magnesia, which is home
to the lively city of Volos, and of course, the famous Mount Pelion.
There is no other area in all of Greece, that offers the magic and beauty
that one can find around the Pelion Peninsula.
Pelion is situated roughly halfway between the two main cities of Greece;
Thessaloniki in the North, and Athens in the South.
Travelling to Pelion is very easy, and there are various means with which
you
can travel there.
During the summer season, the nearby airport of Anhialos
is in operation, and there are many flights which arrive here.
One can also use the airport on the neighbouring island of Skiathos, which
is also part of the prefecture of Magnesia.
Pelion and the city of Volos is also very easy to reach by car, with the
travelling time from Athens approximately 5 hours, and from Thessaloniki
3.5 hours.
Pelion is a very popular destination for both Greeks and visitors from
abroad. During the summer season, the stunning coastline provides some
of the best beaches and cleanest waters you will find in Greece.
During the winter season, lovers of ski and winter sports descend to Volos
and Mount Pelion, to make use of the top quality ski centre, that crowns
the summit of Pelion. |
